Golf as a sport

There is physical exertion involved with twisting and creating a fluid motion to hit the golf ball. If these aren't enough reasons to convince you golf is a sport, just look at the recent efforts of the game's governing bodies to test for performance enhancing drugs. This was debated in Sweden until Annika Sörenstam, the well known female golfer participated in a TV series where a dozen famous former sports stars from different sports competed in various events. Aside from their insensitivity to Martin's degenerative disease in his leg, the golf establishment looked foolish in defending the sport.

When talking about casual golf rounds, many people argue that Golf is not a sport after referring to the true definition of what a sport is.

Is golf the hardest sport in the world?

He was disappointed with this attitude, saying that “I can assure them, it is much more serious than that. Believe it or not, despite its elitist veneer, golf is an egalitarian game that allows people of uneven abilities to play against each other on a relatively level playing field. Not only that, but golf also requires you to find a balance between the different skills in order to excel at all aspects of the game. It is said to be even more mentally challenging than chess and requires years of practice in order to do well, making it one of the hardest sports in the world to master.
